Hello, lovely readers!

I realized I haven’t done a proper introduction so… here goes!

I'm a full-time author who writes about love, romance, and all the swoon-worthy stuff in between.

Here’s a little about myself: I love love. So much so, that even when I wrote my urban fantasy trilogy, I couldn’t resist throwing in some romance. You might think I'm a hopeless romantic, and maybe I am, but I’m not the roses and champagne kind of romantic. I like my romance to include action and angst. Some evil the characters have to overcome, whether it’s a sadistic vampire out to kill one or both of them, or a toxic ex who won’t leave one of them alone. Because it’d be boring if they just fell in love and that was that, wouldn’t it?

When I'm not busy creating fictional love stories, you can usually find me outdoors, hiking the trails of North Florida or tending (weeding) my garden. And when I need a break from the keyboard, I like to curl up on the couch with some classic sitcoms, like the Golden Girls or Friends (is it really old enough to be a ‘classic’ though?😯)

If you haven't watched every single episode of Friends at least three times, you’re not a real fan! (I’ve watched it so many times no one will play Friends trivia with me!)

As for my favorite movie of all time, that's a tough one. But I have to go with When Harry Met Sally. I mean, who doesn’t love that deli scene? (Sidenote: My mom used to refer to me as Sally because I used to be one of those people who would make substitutions or order things ‘on the side.’😏 )

When it comes to books, my number one love is Jane Eyre. Mr. Rochester might be a bit of a brooding, mysterious type, but that’s why he’s irresistible. He was my first book boyfriend!

Now, let's talk about the important stuff: food and drink. I have a serious weakness for chocolate and coffee, and I believe they’re best when consumed together. But coming in second is a hot cup of green tea. In my opinion, it's the answer to all of life's problems. Feeling stressed? Drink some green tea. Got an upset stomach? Green tea. Zombie apocalypse? You guessed it: green tea.

I absolutely love dogs!🐶 I'm such a huge fan that my best friend even bought me a t-shirt that reads "Easily distracted by dogs." Why? Well, we went to a farmer's market together, and she kept losing me because I kept stopping to pet all the dogs. I just can't resist those adorable furry faces!

On a bit of a sad note… My husband and I recently said goodbye to our beloved dog, Emmy, after 14 wonderful years together.💝 We are not ready to adopt another one just yet. It felt too much like we were ‘replacing’ her, and that felt wrong. Until we’re ready, we've started dog-sitting for other people's pets. It's a win-win situation: we get to spend time with lots of adorable dogs, and their owners can go on vacation without worrying about their furbabies.

Alright, my lovely readers. I've shared with you all the things I love, but now it's time to talk about something I hate. And by hate, I mean absolutely dread with every fiber of my being. I'm talking about bridges. Yes, you read that right: Bridges.😱

Hate is a strong word, but when it comes to driving over bridges, fear doesn't come close to describing what I feel. It's not all bridges that send me into a downward spiral of anxiety. Nope, it's those cable-stayed bridges that really do me in. Like the Dame's Point bridge (pictured ) in Jacksonville. I hate that bridge so much that I’ll literally go out of my way just to avoid it.

My fear is so intense that I’ve even gone to a therapist. And while I've made some progress (I no longer have full-blown panic attacks when I'm a passenger in the car), I still get nervous just thinking about driving over them.

But on my birthday last year, we were taking a road trip and had to cross that Dame’s Point bridge, so I decided it was time to face my fear head-on and drive us over the bridge myself. I made my husband promise not to speak and turned off the radio, thinking that complete silence would somehow make the whole ordeal less terrifying.

And you know what? I did it! I made it to the other side in one piece. When I turned to my husband to celebrate conquering my fear, I found him filming me. And then he sent the video of me white-knuckling my way across the bridge to all our friends and family!🤣

So, there you have it, folks. I’m an author who loves nothing more than a happy ending, and when it comes to bridges, I'm still a work in progress, but I kind of got my own happy ending by overcoming (sort of) one of my biggest fears. And now I have a video to remember it!

Well, that's me in a nutshell. I hope this little introduction gave you a chuckle or two, and I can't wait to share more of my writing and my life with you in the future.

I'm excited to share that I'm currently writing a spicy (with a side of darkness) contemporary romance series! I'm about halfway done with the first draft and I can't wait to reveal the title, cover, and a little sneak peek for you all soon. Until then, keep reading, keep laughing, and keep believing in love.

Kimberly Quay

Kimberly Quay has loved romance & fantasy as far back as she can remember. Her childhood home was full of fantasy, romance, and thriller books and movies. Born and raised in Florida, she spent most of her youth outside searching for fairies and hoping to meet (and fall in love with) a vampire.

Author of (spicy) contemporary romance, (steamy) paranormal shifter romance, and (thrilling) urban fantasy, she’s a sucker for a good rom-com and she’s fascinated by old graveyards. When she’s not working on her next novel, she’s reading or kicking her husband’s butt in darts.

Kimberly still loves reading. Especially Nora Roberts and Kim Harrison.
